Home Energy Audits
The audit is where every engagement begins, because an owner cannot improve what has never been measured. A Green Lit Energies Advisement Corp. auditor walks the building from basement to attic, recording insulation depths and materials, window and door glazing types, foundation and rim joist conditions, the age and efficiency of mechanical equipment, and the location of every visible air path. Photographs are captured at each stage so the written report can show the same evidence the auditor saw on site.
A blower door test follows the walkthrough. The measured leakage rate is compared against a modelled target for a building of the same size and vintage, which converts a vague sense of draughtiness into a figure a household can act on. The last two years of utility statements are then entered into the model, and the predicted consumption is checked against what was actually paid. Where the two disagree, the meter is treated as the authority and the model is adjusted until it reconciles.
The deliverable is a written report holding the site photographs, the leakage result, the modelled consumption, and a ranked list of measures with anticipated savings attached to each. Recommendations are ordered by measured value rather than by installation cost, and any measure carrying real uncertainty has that uncertainty stated openly.
